What a great idea!

Trevor is a Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa and has decided to post one photo a day of his adventures in South Africa.

He applied for one additional year in the Peace Corps and after receiving the approval he has decided to do this cool blog.

I will be sure to follow this with great interest!

I am now so tired of the fact that Photoshop has the worst font previewer EVER! Even Word has a better font previewer.

So after a little searching, I found this viewer online.

Works great!

OpenStreetMap.

Worth a look! Another open project demonstrating that data does belong to everyone!

Done with easy to understand WEB 2.o technologies means no downloads and you can get going immediately.

Users can register and start contributing GEO data just like with Wikipedia.

One of the most creative ideas they have is to show cycling trails, something NOT available in any other map applications I know of.

Have a look at this site and explore your region while I go ahead and play with the data layers they provide to developers.

ezSQL – (NOT) For the for the Lazy Sod

I love this class and it has made our work easier.

You can find it at http://www.woyano.com/jv/ezsql
Thank you Justin Vincent

  • ezSQL is a widget that makes it very fast and easy for you to use database(s) within your PHP scripts ( mySQL / Oracle8/9 / InterBase/FireBird / PostgreSQL / MS-SQL / SQLite / SQLite c++).
  • It is one php file that you include at the top of your script. Then, instead of using standard php database functions listed in the php manual, you use a much smaller (and easier) set of ezSQL  functions.
  • It automatically caches query results and allows you to use easy to understand functions to manipulate and extract them without causing extra server overhead
  • It has excellent debug functions making it lightning-fast to see what’s going on in your SQL code
  • Most ezSQL functions can return results as Objects, Associative Arrays, or Numerical Arrays
  • It can dramatically decrease development time and in most cases will streamline your code and make things run faster as well as making it very easy to debug and optimize your database queries.
  • It is a small class and will not add very much overhead to your website.
